It has been nearly a year since we've seen each other, so to say I was excited was an understatement.
After picking him up from a damp Dorchester Train Station, we started to head back home, via the beautiful Corfe Castle.
Despite the torrential rain, and distinct lack of wet weather gear, we decided that the best thing we could do was clamber to the top and explore.
Corfe is one of my favourite castles to explore. Partly due to it being my local castle, the one I grew up with right by home. And then partly because it's just a genuinely stunning castle with a fantastically interesting and long history.
Welcome to the wet and wilds of Dorset!
Towering above the small village of Corfe, the castle's impending outline normally strikes a dark outline against the sun. Today, however, it simply blended in with the stormy skies.
It may have been wet and windy, and we got drenched to the bone with 'side-ways rain', but the view from the top is still pretty awesome.
Now it was time to drag ourselves away from our explorations and head home to get dried off and dolled up for an evening out.
