Scrumpy-tious Sunshine.

I often forget how truly beautiful Dorset is. Growing up, working and returning to Dorset after University, I often spend a lot of my time dreaming of escaping. Whether that be to foreign lands or even to unexplored cities on our little island. Somewhere new to learn and discover.

However, this weekend was one of those beautifully lazy, finally I've got a weekend not working, type of weekends, where I was fully reminded of the breathtaking views and stunning scenery that Dorset is home to. As well as the best cider in the world. Because you can take the girl out of the West Country...

A laid back pub lunch (nothing spectacular, nor photo worthy, but good enough) was followed by a drive across the ferry to Studland and a meander around the windy Purbeck lanes that Dorset likes to refer to as roads.

Whilst out exploring, we found a little farm shop and tea rooms called Holme. Tucked away down from the Viking town of Wareham, Holme is a treasure trove of local goodies and home-grown produce, including some of the best cider I have ever had!

(This little stack looks very civilised. I did in fact come away with so many goodies that they had to forgo the bag and instead gave me a huge box to carry it all in. However they are all for my best friend's birthday, so I shan't give away the secret!)

I was in heaven as I stumbled upon a fridge of cheeses, tucked away in the corner of the shop. In fact, that evening I ate half the goats cheese, smothered on crackers.  Oops. I'll just have to pop back over for some more.

The day finished perfectly with the sun setting over low tide at Poole Harbour. It may be cliché, but sometimes there really is nowhere better than home.
